If anyones intrested we are planning a Campout / Wheelin thing up at Custer cabin. Trail difficulty ranges from medium to hard, Everyones welcome. All of this depends on the weather, but I will have more details later.

I survived this the last time, so I'll probably be up for it. Just gotta get NEW TIRES before I go this time!

Any idea how deep that water crossing is around that time of the year? I nearly hydrolocked the diesel the last time I went. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Well, I'm thinking it had to be sometime in either July or August, because I bought my K5 at the end of June last year.

Just did Hacket and Longwater last night (midnight), there was no snow and it was very easy. For the of you that have had problems with Hacket rock it has been changed somehow a little, the is a fairly large hole on the right hand side just as you crest but before the large rock that sticks out on top on the left. Your right tire drops into this hole while you are trying to get your back tires up the rock. The area at the base of the rock is also dug out a lot more than usual.

Have fun, be careful and goodluck!

That sucks! ARgh... If I had the money, I'd do a lift before this run. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

    How deep was the river?

Hehehe... Well, I made it last time with a completely stock + 31" tires K5. Took some thinking for me (my first time ever off-roading), but I managed to only get stuck once.

I don't think it's a tough trail, if you've got good tires. I didn't at the time, and still don't, but I'm going to give it another shot. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

    Assistance needed before this run!

I hate to impose on anyone, but could someone help me with some work on my truck that I need to get done before going on this run? I've got to replace my shocks (they're completely shot), as well as the bushings for my leaf springs.

I live in an apartment, no garage. If anyone has a garage and could help me do this work, I'd really appreciate it. Beer or whatever could be provided for your troubles.

PM me or reply here... Anyone having a pre-run get-together to work on trucks?

I'd help you if I was closer. Sounds like a quick a.m. trail repair to me.
Lived without a garage all my life tell now.
I wonder how I got by for all those years without it. Good luck.
    Dave

All three trails have a different difficulty level,
1: Metberry gulch (custer cabin) is the least difficult, it has one steep hill with mouguls, and a steep rock. I did this one when my blazer was stock.
2: Longwater gultch : this one has a few more steep hills and a river crossing.
3: Hackett gultch.. : this one is pretty much like longwater except Hackett rock, which is a somewhat difficult rock to get over, but if you have a lift and at least 33's there should be no problem getting over it.
All three trails are in line with each other, also they are between Deckers and woodland park.
