I looked a bit this morning for a list of the GM codes
and found them at the following link. I did a search
on "Service Engine Soon" and didn't find that anyone
had posted the link before so I thought it might be
helpful to other wondering what the codes are.

    http://www.westecauto.com/TechInfo/tcodes/GM/GMSize.html
    or
I have a full text file with the stuff if anyone wants it...

My issue was determined to be in the EGR circuit.
    Anyone have suggestions on cleaning/replacement?
What should I do "best world scenario" and also
    "the cheap route!" :-) Thanx!

On my '87 K5, the computer code for EGR valve came up. I removed/cleaned/replaced it. This fix lasted about 4 months, then the code reappeared along with poor idle problem. Finally payed $44 for a Borg Warner EGR valve and had my 12 year old son to replace it!! If you decide to buy a new valve, be sure to provide the parts man with the OEM part number. This insures you get the right valve and orifice washer.
