I got the Sidekick Offroad Calendar today, and it got me thinking. We should put together a K5 calendar, instead of looking at J@$P'S every month. What do you all think?

I'd buy one. My office is looking pretty bare.

I also work with a couple of hippies... They'd hate it.

    Maybe I'll take two! Hehehehhe!!!

Kinko's makes calendars.....all we need is a repository for high-quality images.....Everyone could contribute photos of their rig.

Then each member could pick the 12 images they like best, and have their own "Best of CK5" calendar made.

I doubt you'd ever get a consensus otherwise about WHICH 12 rigs should be in the calendar.....unless it was somehow "linked" to the "Blazer Of The Month" awards....?

    Just thinking aloud..... [IMG]

what we could do is have everyone pick the pic of there truck they like the best and then have everyone send there favorit pic to one person and have that persone put them all up on webshots each pic with a number and then everyone votes for there top 12 favorit pics then those top 12 would go on the callander[IMG] i would be willing to have everyone send there pics to me and i would put them up on webshots. so what do you all think? i think this would be a good fair idea

ive seen calanders with dogs or cats on them that have a different one for every day. 365 rigs? i think we could do that. i just wonder how much it might cost. would be cool though. at least that way theres nobody pissed off that their truck didnt make it. i dont know ......just a thought....later.....tmanofcali

Besides the picture, how about a small write up of the truck (year, mods, etc). Pictures at different angles of the truck, and trucks in action would be cool.

Are they done yet???? lol . I got my money ready!!!

365 rigs in one calender? Its hard enough to get people to fill out their profile let alone fill out a calender!!!
I like the 365 idea...got to have something to replace Far Side with.....

Let me tell you something. When I had my 99 cougar and I started our online clup (very simmular to CK5) we decided on doing a calendar and it was a GREAT success. The calendar came out awesome and we sold quite a few.

A few issues to take into account if this is pursued:
    Who gets to be featured?
How many K5's (or GMC's) per month?
Who's going to pay the initial costs?
    Who's going to distribute it?
Who makes the final decision on placements of photos?

Just a few things we ran into and some things to think about.

Also, I'd love to help out in the making of the calendar and I still have mine form the COugar to show anyone htat would like to see how well it turned out for us.

    HEY, now there's an idea!!!
A calendar such as the Far Sides one that's a different page for every day. Although that might be pretty costly because admit it, who wants to see 365 black and white pics of K5's?

I'd be more than happy to donate the webspace as well as the UI for the voting.

Well, my opinion is such that we are all adults. I dont really see the requirement for everyone on the site to have a pic of thier truck in or on every thing we do. I think a nice 12 month calendar with a different truck each month, maybe with a large pic, then a couple of small pics at the bottom corners of the truck wheelin. As far as picking the trucks... there have been some good ideas on this post, but I like the voting idea. Everyone sends one pic to the person that can post them on one site, we vote for our favorite 12 trucks, and those are the ones. You cant get any fairer than that. The trucks included in the calender have to be members, but I think anyone can vote.
Thats my opinion, and if I dont get voted in, I can assure you that I wont be upset and cry! [IMG]
