I just put an HEI in my 73 and got a tune up kit with new everything for it and new wires. I put it in and i was wondering what color the spark should be, im getting an orange one. Shouldnt it be blue? my plugs are gapped properly and im pretty sure i hooked it up to a 12v source(male terminal on fuse block marked IGN.) Would not using the proper gauge of wire cause this because in mot sure of the exact gauge but i know its not 12-16. any help would be great

Wire gauge shouldn't affect your spark. Is everything new, and if not, did you replace the HEI module?

Hmmm. You might try screwing with the timing a little, and try running your power from a different terminal.
