Hey guys, I would like to run Holy Cross Saturday, Aug 19. More than likely it's going to be my last trail before the new baby is born.

It's been my goal to complete this trail for several years now. Last year was my best shot and the power steering pump went out. So I gotta try it again this year.

I'm planning to leave for the trail at about 6AM. Hopefully that'll put me there between 9&10AM.

    Anybody else interested?

I have heard a lot about that trail, but unfortunately the truck will be in stripped in Elizabeth at that point. But if you want a lot of pictures taken you know who to call.

Alex, you could always ride along, too. My brother-in-law may come, and you might be able to ride with him. I don't know if he'll have anyone with him. You could ride in my back seat too. Seems like you always end up walking most of the trail anyways.

It is definitely a scenic trail.

that may work, I'll wait and see who else jumps in. If all else that would work and I'll just find a place to meet you guys.

I am hoping to go.Still not sure if I will be moving my girlfriend to Fort Collins that weekend though. Oh ya and I rolled my truck today so we'll have to see if I can have it somewhat usable by then.

Alex there will be plenty of spare seats, make sure to show up. You can always ride up front and I'll take the jumper seat. Getting the crew together and having a good time is what it's all about.

trying to get a small amount of body work done. A large (i.e. 5 sq ft) piece of paint flaked off from the previous paint job and then a bunch of a-holes in the neighborhood decided to spray paint everybody's vehicles. So now I am just attempting to finish trimming the fenders, clean up and seal the firewall, and paint the rig all one color instead of the graffiti mural it is now.

How far away, and what is the E.T.A. back in the denver area? I am interested I just have prior engagements that evening. If we can be back in town around 5-6pm I can probably go. Later

Here's some info on the trail: traildamage.com 4x4trails.net

I'm guessing it would be about 2-hours from Denver, maybe a little less depending. 6-hours seems to be about the norm for most trail runs. I can't remember how long the trail took us last time, but we ended up with one guy having hub issues and then I lost my pwr steering pump.

D..n I have no desire to do this trail again, whether driving or bitching about the driver trying to let someone roll his truck. Right Boulder Nick.

I must have the rosey glasses on. I don't remember the trail being that bad, aside from the creek crossing. And I've heard that the crossing has gotten easier.

I know my p/s failing made for some excitement and stress, but that's going to be true anytime something breaks on the trail.

I think this is just a tad more than my truck will handle.

I figured that's why you said:

But you are right. I wouldn't encourage you to take the DQ on this trail. It's definitely not any easier than OCG, IMO.

The DQ should easily make it to French creek and then you could just park and ride with someone else. The creek is about the same as its always been but the real fun starts after the city on the way to Cleveland lake. Dont forget your fishing poles, my dad and I went back up there the week after I posted the pictures of the fish in the lake and had a blast.

You will also want to get as early a start as you can cause on saturdays the trail has about 100 jeeps on it.

I wont be able to make this one, moving the GF back to collage on that weekend.

Have fun and show all those jeeps how its done.

Yeah, I figure we can most anybody to the Creek. But I was worried about parking too many rigs because like you said, there'll be a ton of Jeepers around. I'm looking forward to it, because I know our fullsizeness will piss them off on that trail.

I'll be camping in Glenwood (No-Name, actually) that weekend with my parents. Sorry to miss this one, but I'm sure one of you other guys will find some ice packs for James' vagina.:haha:
