Even though I had to bail on Crystal/Moody, we are planning to run Medano Pass Sunday, June 11th. I'm really looking forward to this one; I think it will be quite scenic.

    Here's some trail info:
    http://www.traildamage.com/trails/index.php?id=53 Check out the slideshow.

We will run the trail starting in the Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Park. It runs past the backside of the Dunes, which in my opinion is the best way to see them. The trail ends on Hwy 69. Unless plans change, we'll be driving back over Medano to our campsite.

Let's plan to meet at the park entrance at 9:00AM.

If you've never been the Dune, you need to go. It is one of my favorite places in Colorado.

MrK5 & family, fred2mihi, B_to_C, 3 on the tree, and jiminycricket will be camping near the Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Park in San Luis Lakes State Park. There is camping in the Nat'l Park, but it is first come first serve and we didn't want to take a chance. If anyone else is interested in camping, you can camp either of the place above or there may camping in the NF. I'll also let you know if we have an opening in our site.

We'll be there about noon Saturday. We're going to bum around the park Saturday afternoon. Wheel Medano Sunday and drive home Monday.

    I've made a map here: http://local.live.com/?v=2&cid=20A5DE213E9A8E32!101

    Here's another map:

If my Irrigation set is done by then I'll make it. It's going to be close.

I gotta practice getting wet. I want to escape all this hard unwanted American work and go down to Mexico where I can be a tequilla bum. When I invade Mexico I'll have to swim the Rio. Thus I shall forever be known as The Great White-Back. :D

Oh yeah, keep in mind that you will need to pay a park entrance fee. According to their website it is $3 per person 16&over for a 7day pass.

Not going to happen for me. I'm sure Fred can relate to what I've got myself involved in. The grass has been whispering to me.

Oh no, the QUEEN is stuck in the DRIVEWAY once again. The only thing more demanding than irrigating is being married to a dairy herd. :):) I thought you guys were getting washed away with rain. We finally had our first good rain in at least a month last evening. Poor "cricket" he'll have webbed feet before long and walking around quacking. :):)

It's dry. Crispy critters in the field. I'm amazed they haven't cut off the river yet. I know a couple guys who just let their corn go and are leasing their water rights for the season to break even.

    Quack. :D

Jiminycricket the Rubber Ducky. Smooth on the surface, but paddling like hell underneath.
