Will the column shift still work, although letters won't line up?

    Thanks,
    Doug

yes is same, dont worry about not being able to get into lo 1 on the 700r4, worry about that later when you can modify end of colummn so that the shift lever will go downwards a ltitle more, requires soem filing of the slot the arm lever rides in on end of column

liek you wil need to get into lo 1 anyways....

    happy tranny swapping!

You can use it the way it is. But, I plan on switching to something like the B&M megashifter. If you do this, the column shift doesn't matter.

I'm certainly a fan of the megashifter. Just trying to keep body and interior stock as possible.

    Thanks for the info,
    Doug

ands then you wil have to deal with column shifter housing with auto shifter arm deal, that wont look right, unless its a beater rig and it doesnt matter,

Mine is a daily driver, not a show rig. But its not a beater. I plan on pulling the pin on the column and locking down the column at the firewall. After getting my 700r4 rebuilt the way I want it, the megashifter is next logical step.
