    components or 6x9\'s?

Just about ready to make some side panels and was wondering what people opinions are on going either so 6 1/2 componts or 6x9's? which would be a better setup? I'm sure the components would sound a bit better, but wonder if they would give off as much bass as a 6x9 would

not gonna give off as much base, but a round speaker has a much better sound then a 6x9...

I'd do components, and then do a sub...

Components sound far better, but really need a clean amp and sub(s) to make them worth it - all depends on how much you're willing to spend on it, and your musical tastes.

Another option is to go for a 6-1/2 2way. It will sound better than the 6x9 and cost less than the components.

Good lord. The rod up that man's butt must have a rod up it's butt.

I have 4 4way sony 6x9's and it sounds realy good. Nice clean sounding music. Louder than heck but nice with the top off. 2 in the door and 2 behind the rear seat. 220 watts each, my amp is a little short on power, but I should be acquiring a bigger one soon.

I've got the Blaupunkt 6X9's with the graphite injected polymer cone, and they sound killer - nearly waterproof to boot! I've still got most of my stuff from my IASCA/enough bass to annoy people in the next county phase, but I just want to listen to my music, and have it sound clean to me, without being too concerned about anything getting stolen - the other people on the road can get their own damned stereo[IMG]

amen, but I like the nice expensive systems... I just like to put them together for sound quality instead of sound volumn. of course a nice system has plenty of both!

One of these days I'll put all the good stuff in the dually - the killer factory AM/FM cassette deck just ain't doing it for me - besides, it'll be nice to drown out the kid(s) on road trips[IMG]

I had a $3500 system in my grand prix when I sold it, and I sold it to a friend who would not purchase the car unless I left the stereo in it... [IMG]

now I gotta start all over again so it will be a while until I get a nice system! (and I"m gonna need a good alarm first)
