Bought some DVDs on a trip to Walmart. Damn you $10 and $8.44 racks!

-Gone in 60 Seconds, some new special extended edition
    -Rain Man
    -Princess Bride
    -Stripes
    -The Burbs
    -The Jackal

Damn my love of movies. Since I got my dvd burner, I have only bought 7 movies, including these 6. Only other one was "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?", I simply had to buy that rather then, umm rent.

    Ooooohhh, "The Jackal"

The scenes with the CH-53E helicopter in them?? That particular aircraft is at Willow Grove now... and at one point in it's life, it had my name on the side as the First Mech.
Just a little movie trivia for ya...

I just keep buying burners... I just bought another one last week for $30. I have 4 now... Maybe one day I'll actually start burning the videos from the digital video camera, insteading of buying another burner that I think will make the perfect first video from it :surepal:

I've got a couple of DVD burners, but I have yet to burn a movie. I do burn a crap load of cd's though. I bought a dvd camcorder awhile back, now that thing is pimp. Record, final out, pop into the dvd player and whammy.

Well good, I feel better now. I quit buying them around Christmas because I thought I was getting a little compulsive about it, but now I know I'm not the only one. :D

Good question... I call it 50/50 right now. Just so strange that in an era of forced "jointness" in DoD, they decide they want to close a facility that has commands from all four services on board. Oh well, I've hijacked this enough.

eh its my thread and I hijacked it first. I watched a speech Rendel gave and he said that the senate has figured that closing it down will cost a few hundred jobs, vs the thousands it really will.

Whether his numbers are true or false depends on how you define a "lost" job:

The number of people who's jobs will evaporate and NOT be relocated to another facility, and therefore will be unemployed, probably actually is a couple hundred.
The number of people who's jobs will move to another facility in PA is probably a couple hundred more.
The number of people who's jobs will move to NJ (McGuire AFB) or some other state is probably the biggest number; probably several hundred to a thousand or so.

Now my estimates are the direct losses; i.e. people who actually work on the station. I'm not referring to the indirect losses, like Gregory's Barber Shop or all the bars, fast-food joints, and restaurants that will lose business. Those numbers are a lot harder to figure out, and I'm just not that smart.
But I am smart enough to figure this out - closing Willow Grove is stupid, and a bad idea.
