ok, here's the deal, i can play games on line fine, no problems with the network here. but if i want to host a game i have to disable a few things, so this is what i do..... put my ip 192.168.2.40 (local ip i know) outside the "de-militarized zone" from the router setup, turn off firewall from router setup, and the last thing i need to do is disable NAT, but that closes my internet connection so i can't host a game??? Also i can't seem to get online if i just remove the router and go directly from the cable modem to the computer ??? [IMG] /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You could probably host a game, but first you'd have to find out what port it is running on, then set up the port forwarding on your router to sent any traffic coming in that port directly to you PC. If it was a linksys I could help you, but I don't have any experience with the Belkin's. Should be in the settings somewhere though.

If you want to turn the router off or take it out of the equation, you may have to bring up a DOS prompt and type Ipconfig /release <hit enter>
    then type Ipconfig /renew <hit enter>
    That may fix your problem.
    Let me know.

how would i find which ports i need open ?
i found these but don't know how to use them....

Working Around the Firewall / Proxy
If you are behind a firewall/proxy and are able to change its settings, Arcade needs the following TCP ports open in order to function:
    6667 (IRC)
    3783 (Voice Chat Port)
    27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
    28900 (Master Server List Request)
    29900 (GP Connection Manager)
    29901 (GP Search Manager)
    13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
    6515 (Dplay UDP)
    6500 (Query Port)
