    Okay, here's the situation.

Started to play NASCAR Racing 2003 today. Graphics went down the crapola. First it was stuff blinking, cars running around looking like blobs; then it progressed into the car graphics looking like ripped paper so bad I couldn't tell what car it was.

Was running Direct3D along with ATI Radeon 9250 video card.

Ended up switching over to OpenGL and no problems; but I wanted the other setup back since the graphics are better. Graphics continued down the path of doom as the track started looking like checkerboard. Played around with the settings, trashed a set of video card drivers that I downloaded last week and downloaded a different set. The plummeting to Earth of the graphics continued.

So I decided I might as well do an uninstall, install. First, I moved folders that I have game modifications (paint jobs, different cars and such) so they wouldn't get vaporized.

    Do the install and nothing.

Attempt again and now the game is running, BUT..................................

When I go into different sections, animations stop when I move the mouse. Went into another section, and there's animations that appear as they should from a download a few days ago, but not like they should when the game is freshly installed.

I'm lost now. I don't know where to go from here and I'm in real need of help.

Just for information, another graphics intense game that I play, I opened it for a quick check and didn't see anything amiss.

Should I uninstall the game and the video card software, then do an install on everything?

This makes me think that the mouse and video card are sharing interrupts. Look at your hardware settings and see if the IRQs are the same.
You may also want to check for the latest driver version for your video card.
If all else fails call tech support for the maker of the video game.

Alright Bubba. Heres what ya need to do. Download this- http://www2.ati.com/drivers/wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-09-041221m-020455c.exe

Latest drivers for your card. 23.5MB. Put it on your desktop.

    Download this too-
    http://www.drivercleaner.net/download.php?site=1&file=DCProSetup_10.zip

It's a program called driver cleaner. Install it. You can learn how the program works here-
    http://www.drivercleaner.net/

Now go to your add remove programs in the control panel and remove anything ATI driver related. Then run the driver cleaner program and remove anything ATI related. Reboot the computer. When the computer reboots all your display settings will be out of wack. If any add new hardware windows or anything else pops up, cancel it. Click on the drivers that you downloaded ealier. Go through the install procedure and reboot afterwards. Get your all your display stuff set back up the way you like.

Go here and download and install the patch for the game-
    http://www.gamershell.com/download_3401.shtml

And last but not least, go here and update your Direct X-
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx?url=/windows/directx/downloads/default.htm

If that doesn't help, I dunno what else to say...:)

Thanks for the help Joe. I actually had to do that procedure three times using three sets of drivers before it would actually work.................
