    Hey all,
I've got an alternator from a friends engine swap. It's a brand new '86 small block camaro version. I want to use it on my truck because it is an 94 amp version compared to my alternator of unknown origin(maybe 63 amps). However, it has a serpentine pulley on it. I already took that pulley off and was wondering if my single pulley would go on and line up with the rest of the pulleys. I know It will mount up the exact same way using my exsisting brackets. thanks.

Should work fine, just keep the pulleys and spacers together.

My '87 (motor) has the same goofy set up. Brother's '88 T/A is full serpentine, as well as our '89 'Burban.

The camrao has the goofy one sepentine belt setup also. I'd rather not use that pulley set up. I tried to put on a single groove pulley and the big threaded stud that the pulley goes on seems a hair short that it should be. the serp spacer is off. The single groove fan and pulley seem normal but the nut barely has enough threads to go all the way on, I don't see this as an issue exact for there's no room for that locking washer. What do you guys think ? try it with out the washer and just tighten the nut down a little extra or what ?
