If that is the right intake for the later heads, then the carb and a good vacuum advance distributer should set you up.

If you have the centerbolt heads, you need a different intake..Also you'll need to remove the fuel pump plate and get a mechanical pump and push rod.. What else am I missing here? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

It would take a brain removal for me to put a carb on a tbi engine. Why are you not keeping fuel injection?

I assume the "early" TBI engines still have the cam lobe to drive the fuel pump since it hasn't been brought up?

Make sure the block has a provision for a mech. fuel pump.... Some blocks did not and you have to use an electric fuel pump...

You can use the OE electric pump but you'll need to get a fuel pressure regulator with a provision for a return line.

I think you will need a new gas tank as well, the baffels and pumps are different IIRC

We did the same thing. I put a sb400 in my 89 and my 89 350 in my bro's 77. We used a mechanical fuel pump with no problems. We did use the heads off his old engine though with a Performer manifold. Only difference I know of with these "newer" blocks is the one piece rear main seal and the dipstick is on the opposite side.
