converting ifs to solid front axle

    help....ive broken my millionth cv and ive had it!
    i need any and all information on converting to solid front axle. The truck is an 88 silverado, and any info on this is greatly appreciated.
    Info needed: straight axle required and vehicle to come out of, kits available and reviews......

    Off road unlimited has kits, they're very expensive.

    Dana 44 or 60 needs to come from a '70s Ford.

    You could easily make your own stuff and make it work as well.

    They are expensive, but I think that its somewhat reasonable, becasue there is no guess work in geometery, angles and whatnot; expensive but well worth it.
