I have been seeing this 55 Willy's pick up for sale down the road from my house and I finaly stopped in to check it out.
It was a mud drag rig but it was just too freakin cool.
it sat on a 56 Chevy frame, had an Eaton rear and D44 front 4:56 gears both locked.
Stock Dodge 3/4 ton springs and 44x18 Gumbo monster mudders. The fenders were untouched too.
4" rear driveshaft and some monster u-joint.
    455 Buick engine TH350/205.
    Radiator mounted in the bed.
    Weighed a whopping 3500 lbs.
Nicely built not cobbled together I was realy impressed with the work.
Just goes to show if ya can think about it it can be done.

3500 lbs!!! The engine weighs around 700, and the tires weigh around 150 each. That leaves 2200 for the rest of the truck. And considering the power that thing could make it must float on the mud. That is quite an amalgamation. The only down side is, it must be hard to sell it for what it is worth...unless you get lucky and sell it to one of us...heheh
