That has the making of a great RV. I know a few people that have bought wrecked motor homes (RVs) and stripped them, and built old school buses into nice RVs. May not be the prettiest thing on the outside, but they turned out very nice inside. Isn't that where it really matters anyways ??

    Old busses are cool!...

I love those old busses--had lots of style!--that one looks like a 1956 Chevy or GMC..we had a bus like that at the junkyard, but it was full size, and 2wd..

I love the old "tear drop" back windows in old busses..there was a 1948 "Flexible" bus at the boneyard that was really neat looking,if it wasn't so rotted underneath it would have made a sweet RV!..it had a weird straight 6 gas motor,a "Fitz-john"or something like that..

I always wondered how many trips it took and how many people rode in it before it was junked..could almost hear the voices in it when you were in it loking through all the parts we tossed in it to keep them out of the weather..seemed a shame to scrap such a neat old thing..

I want that so bad it hurts.

There is a local guy who customized a similar old bus, but slammed and chopped it. It's also 2WD. He painted it the OSU colors and takes it to ALL the home games and many of the away games. I hear it is a blast to party with this guy.

And just the other day I was headed down to Eugene and there is the Monoco coach faility off I5, across the interstate is a big RV Park and I noticed a bright yellow 'Something' parked there. I took the exit and whipped through. Some guy converted a short bus to a camper, and then converted another to a trailer. All lowered and dually and hotrod and all. The front was the kitchen and living room, and the trailer was the bedroom and bath. It was VERY VERY COOL. I wish I had my camera at the time.

So anyway, who want to loan me the money to buy this thing.

I might consider selling my '69, D60, 14BFF, 350, 4spd, 203, 205, and hydro steering if it could get me this bus... SERIOUSLY...

Did anyone else notice the additional line mentioning the axle gear ratio is 6.17:1? :eek1: I guess you'd need gears that deep for the little 6 cylinder...

Hmm, only slightly longer than a crew cab. Hmm, 6.17's, a 4-speed, and a straight six.....and the speedo goes to 100. Funny.

there's one on Diamond Hill Rd, and one on Peoria Rd, both are in Harrisburg though. neither have an RV park across the street, and neither are on I5. i worked in the Peoria service center for a week in September. you sure you're not thinking of Marathon?

Oh yeah, Marathon... the expensive bus coaches... I can't afford one so I really didn't think it through. Thanks for setting me straight.

WTF are you doing in Outdiana?

Well I suppose I can't say to much. I had to venture to MO and OH for a few years so that I could learn just how excellent OR really is. But speaking from experience. I don't recommend that anyone do it. It's just not worth it. Stay in God's country... THE NW!!!

Oh and what's this RALLY you speak of?

i was born here. :haha: September was my first time west of the Mississippi. lol

a rally is a HUGE get together at the fairgrounds in Salem. we had over 900 customer busses, plus 40-50 of our own show busses. they send a team of techs out to work on the busses. had Monaco, Holiday Rambler, Beaver, Safari, and Royale Coaches there.
