Cooling System capacity?

    With the radiator drained, block drained, and the heater drained how many quarts does a GM cooling system hold. I have a 3 core HD rad, and a 350.

    85 Jimmy with GM crate 350. (I believe the block was supposed to be from an 86 if I remember what they told be right)

    I think about 3 gallons (12 quarts). Buy 2 gallons of antifreeze, pour a whole one in. Refill with water, pour it in. Then, open the other one. Empty half into the other bottle and fill the rest of the way with water...Voila!!! 50/50 mix...plus you can carry the unused with you for emergencies.
