I know I've said it before, but copy protected music pisses me the FU(K off!

So, I'm trying to burn a CD to an Ipod and it of course has copy protection, so I can't just pop it in the drive and copy it. I have to go to the flash website and lower the security so I can even run the cd. Then I have to copy through this special feature, but for some reason it's not letting me. So, I've just decided to say fu(k it and I'm downloading it illeagaly. Man the RIAA can lick my ball sweat.

The RIAA still doesn't get it. The more they lock it, the more it will be traded illegally. I don't know what part of that they don't get.

Is it the CD, the Ipod, or both?

If he already owns the CD , I see no problem ethics wise with making it fit your player .

I pay 9.99 a month for rhapsody , and I sure as hell rip the protected wma to mp3 for my truck .

The same thing happened when I tried to rip velvet revolvers disc to the music file.
I ended up taking to a friend of mine and had him just rip the music part of it to another disk, then I returned the disc to the FYE store where it was purchased.
Got my money back. plus got my music.
If it's copy right protected I won't even buy it.

Just from a few minutes of googling, i found 5-6 ways to get around this copypretection.

heres a few of the best

    1) disable autorun on your cdrom. See the disc needs to install its CP software the first time its run, no autorun = no install unless you execute the disk, copy away.

    2) use linux. none of the major copyright software works under linux. download a livecd of ubuntu and rip away.

    3) as you said, just download it from elseware :D

I really don't mind paying for my tunes, But it damn well better be easy to load and copy anywhere I choose after paying for it.

I guess it depends on what type or how popular music you listen to.

I've never had a problem putting anything on my Creative Micro.

The iPod works as it should, and I'm sure the CD copy protection is working as it should, but it's such an asspain to use. It shouldn't take an hour to rip a 13 song CD.

Well, I tried AnyDVD and got the message

"Media is an Audio CD. Found & removed additional sesssion(s) from Audio CD!"

But it didn't work. The files copy but sound as if the disk is skipping. :(

Oh well, it was worth the shot.
