so my soap pump stopped working, took it apart and the little ball bearing in there was corroded.
    fine
a caster broke at home depot, spilled the bearings, i brought some home, turns out they are the same exact size i need.
put one in and it works for a day, than it stops working again
    pissed
take it apart, and its corroded, rusted real bad
so they can handle grease and oil, but not soap?
    WTF?

Soap does have a corrosive material in it, i have hauled some of the bulk material used as an additive in regular old soap, and it required the use of "corrosive" placards on the trailer.

Not sure what you have going on there though,,,what kind of "soap"

Anything with Citris in it will corrode. Citric acid that is in minute quantities. The bearings that you pick up probably were only steel and not stainless steel.

Not to mention if it had lye in it...

    Go with stainless.

When I said stainless, I meant underwear. That cuts down on soap usage.
