Survey: Can anyone tell me how much it should/will cost to replace or rebuild the 700R4 tranny including installation?
Just trying to get an idea so as not to get ripped off. Thanks.

Starting price around here is $1000 for a rebuild (700r4)

Replace,I have no idea. I would call around your area, and get some qoutes from different shops. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

I have heard it's about $600 just for rebuild parts, with labor around $1200. Good luck.... /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

Here in Oklahoma they're $500 for a good rebuild w/ the tranny out of the vehicle, $800 with it installed. That includes Corvette servo(s?) and xtra clutch packs. Kyle89k5 has had one rebuilt here.

I just bought a GM remanufactured 700r for $1250 plus tax ($100) and had it installed for $150. So $1500 total. Could have got it rebuilt and installed for about $900 to $1000 with a 9 month/9,000 mile warranty. With the GM, I got 3 years/50,000 miles (no matter who installs it) and if i have any problems, I can go to any GM dealership. For me it was the best way to go, especailly with some of the stories I've heard about some of the area shops.

You'll probably have to shop around for that price on the tranny. I was quoted prices from as cheap as $1244 to as high as $1778). Another route could be an AC Delco rebuilt tranny 2 year/24,000 mile warranty. Not sure the price.
