howcome some 80's years ford car axles have a counter weight atached to diff housing under front of it, under the pinion area ?

the third gen camaros and firebirds also have a counterweigh, but it is attached to end of the t-5 transmissions

im willing to bet its to reduce vibrations, due to the fact that ford still cant seem to build one vehicle without some sort of vibration in it, be it the exhaust, wheels, driveshafts, axles, etc..hell even mustangs that are convertables have vibrations due to the a-pillars..so, vibrations it is.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
