So, I have a problem with my new crate motor. It seems like there is excessive crankcase pressure that builds up when it is running.

When the motor gets warm enough, the engine starts to squeal. I thought it was my tranny going bad at first, so I replaced that. No dice, still have the squeal. So I had it running and I pulled the dipstick to check the oil. As soon as I pulled it out, I heard what sounded like pressure being released from the dipstick tube, and the squeal went away. I am going to check the PCV system as soon as I get back to check to see if it is blocked, but does anyone else have any ideas on what else I should check????

    FYI, its a TBI motor.

My old TBI 350 used to push the PCV valve out of the socket a bit so I know it was building pressure too but it never squealed or made of any of the sounds you're describing.

I just figured it was blow by from a tired motor. Now I'm curious too.
