Yup, another good reason to put in a 4spd and cut the top completely off!!! I still have that 32 spline SM465 if you need one...

    Good carnage!

I thought you got rid of that. I'm keeping the auto, just looking for another case to build. I'm also going to fab up some torque rods to run from the bellhousing to the doubler. As for the top, I'll be cutting that off very soon:hack:

I have a crossmember that supports all the mounts (4) on the t-cases. I'm running Energy Suspension motor mounts and all four t-case mounts. I think it was a combination of having the frame a bit twisted in the rocks and applying a lot of torque to the trans:dunno: A torque rod like the stock one may help, so that is the plan on the next one.

I'd say the frame was twisted up in the rocks but your crossmembers are too rigid and didnt let the tcase's rotate up enough when the motor got rotated by the twising of the frame. Weakest link is what broke. I'm not completely sure the torque rods would be enough. I'd be more inclined to re-design the crossmember and add the torque rods.

Found one for $150, it does have to be a 4WD or "K-case" (thicker.) I plan on having it done soon, along with the 400SB and a cage to add some rigidity to the frame and protection for the family. I'll be doing some build up type threads in Feb. or early March depending on the sidework.

Even adding the cage might help stiffen up the frame enough to prevent this from happening again :thumb:
