*crate engine* oil leak help i can\'t find it-

a month ago i was burning old gas out of J.R.-my truck-and it fouled the plugs. so i put fresh gas in a can and sucked it through the pick up hose, well most of the gas that didn't burn went in the oil pan. i changed the oil and started it back up,every thing was fine except oil was spraying on the header and starter.only when i reved it up though.i thought it was the oil pan gasket but i spent an hour looking today and there is a mist on the side of the head and valve cover, real light like it's been there.the bottom of the oil pan is a little wet so is the bottem of the bell housing.when i started it today it didn't spray, /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifi don't get it. anyone have an idea where to look??? /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifto /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Sounds hard to find, the only advice i can offer is if it is spraying out under pressure, it shouldnt be the pan or a valve cover, since the oil pretty much just flings around these areas. Check any oil pressure switches you have. Or clean the motor very well, get a light ready, and start it up and hope it does it so you can see it well.

look on the opposite side of the dipstick, where it would be on the other side, there is supposed to be a plug there the might have not been put in fully or at all.

Get a dye shot and a uv light and it'll be easy to find.
