saw one in the paper a few weeks ago and it said it was a 91 4 door short bed fi454, overdrive auomatic 37" swampers.
i went to look at it and it was a half ton long bed frame and drivetraine with a different body on it. so it had 10 bolts, 700r4, np241 and auto hubs. and they still wanted 12,000.

I took my crewcab and moved the rear axle forward 23 inches. it is still 10 inches longer than a suburban.

The yellow truck started out as a std cab long bed. The crew cab body was added and the stock long bed was cut to fit. More Pics and info can be found at: www.gulfcoast4x4s.com/mohawktoad /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Shortbox crewcab? More common than you think...

Mine started out as a crewcab "cab & chassis" that the logging co. chopped 16" out of and slapped on the crummy box. Heck, it even had a plywood tonneau and extra fuel tank for chainsaw mix when I got it /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well now you gone and done it. My hubby wants one just like that. We have the picture printed and hung on the fridge for inspiration. My inspirational photo is below it. The magnet holding mine up says "No woman ever shot a man while he was doing the dishes" /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

LOL!! Well, there is a cab in decent shape up at the salvage yard that I'm heading to on Wednesday... I'll have to see what they want for it and start saving my pennies.

Yeah, I have been using the yellow one and Desert Rat's for inspiration on mine. Hopefully I can start cutting soon.

My husband and me were just talking about doing this to our new beater just yesterday as we were cleaning it up. Thought how hard it would be since mine needs a new cab anyhow and its something you don't see. I have a friend who did it to a Furd that sits on 39.5 swampers. Hmmmmmm /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
