I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT YOU CAN USE THE PITMAN ARM OFF A YJ OR AN F150, IS THIS TRUE?
YES. the yj you will have to tapper to use a stock chevy rod end but no big deal
I used a Superlift arm intended for a lifted F-150 application.... It's the beefiest pitman arm I've ever seen!... I can get the P/N, but I don't have it now..
The part number is SUP-1104.
I used a late 70s Ford Van. Same as Waxer. They are supper beefy, easy to find, and dirt cheap. Mine cost $6 at the u-pullit. Just take a 2 or 3 jaw puller. I went by AutoZone and "borrow" the pitman arm puller, largest one they had wouldn't fit over the van pitman arm! Only thing is you have to ream out the hole for the drag link. I wouldn't use the jeep version, the ones I've seen are less than 1/2 the size of the Van.
what kind of steering box are you using?
i got a 2 wd box of an 86 truck
AGR with RockRam and a XJ pitman arm and Toybox Offroad draglink and Tierod.
