    CUCV won\'t start.....HELP!!

I have a 6.2 diesel and it won't start. I've only had it around a month and it's the first diesel I've owned. It's been colder than usual here (5 degrees at night, maybe 30 during the day) for the last week or so. It cranks but it can't seem to turn over completely. Don't have a clue what to do. Hasn't started in a week. HELP PLEASE!!!

It cranks but it can't seem to turn over completely ?

Are you saying it doesn't spin over fast enough or it's not firing? Remember your starter is 24V. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What else, is it smoking while your cranking?

If only Uncle Sam saw fit to include a block heater on all 6.2s /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

It's not smoking when it's cranking. Plugging in the block heater is a great idea.....except it doesn't have one. The general opinion here at home is that it needs a block heater because it's too freaking cold. It's not firing when I go to start it. Someone mentioned something to me about fuel additives.......could my fuel be gelling up??

Well your CUCV doesn't need a block heater to start, But it sure wants one /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

It not getting fuel. Yes, most likely gelled. Try replacing the fuel filter, putting a heater under the fuel tank (or bring the truck into a heated garage) and adding Anti-Gell fuel additive. I've heard there is a new fuel additive that can actually take the gelled pariffin and liquify it again, but I haven't seen this yet. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I took your advice and put in an anti-gel additive in my fuel. Took a little bit, but I did get it started. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I've had no problems since! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Thanks for everyone's help!
