Hmm, musta missed that thread................gonna go look, but in the meantime, I've owned my '01 Cummins for 7 months now, NO REGRETS. Get around 20 mpg, more power than any gasser can make, and for about a grand can make it reach 400hp/800+ ft lbs of torque. Only wish I had seen the light sooner.............:frown1:

I locked the thread because it was turning into a finger pointing/bitch session and wasn't leading to anything positive. Just doing my job, bub.

And from the initial tone of this post, be advised that I'll be keeping a close eye on this one, too.

The other thread doesn't have so much to do with a Cummins as it does a few select people that let us all know how good of a choice they have made in a truck. I don't think that most of us have anything at all against the Cummins, just a couple of owners.

i love our clackity clack cummins. its a 99, bout ready to trade in in for either an 03' or a brand spankin new one. the old girl has served us well, but the HVAC unit is leaking behind the dash, and the ign. wiring is going bad(or at least thats what the dealer said)not worth the $3k+ to fix it. too bad they dont put the cummins in a chevy or i'd be in heaven.

A '99 and it's already an "old girl" that has "served you well"? I'm sorry, but a $35k truck should last a hell of a lot longer than 5-6 years. Most people take longer than that to pay off a vehicle that costs that much. Shoot, I have a '99 S-10 that still runs like a top and it only cost $14k.

That thread turned into a whinny bitch "my rooster is bigger than yours" diaper fest faster than I can devour a dozen of Krispy Kreme's finest................ :D
