I jacked the front of my K5 up and put a bar under the tire and nothing moved ...also tryed to wiggle it from front to back and it felt solid as well. I assume the alignment must be out but was wondering why only one side was out?

A worn out shock could be contributing to it too.

Ususally, "cupping" means that the tire is bouncing up and down as it goes down the road. The shocks are what keeps the tire from doing that. If they wear out, then you'll get "cupping".

I blew a brand new one (less than 6 mos. old) on a wheeling trip and didn't know/notice it till my front tires started to cup. I put on new shocks and rotated the tires. It smoothed back out in a few months. If you catch it early, it's not a big deal.
