I am looking for specifically the pinion setup...
I know from the inside out it goes:

Pinion gear, shims, bearing, bearing, slinger, yoke, nut.

Am I missing anything? I recently replaced an inner bearing on my pinion, and now it sits loose in the housing. The nut is tight (as far as I can get it), but it still has slop in and out (about 1/4" or so). I dont think I can add enough shims under the inner bearing to tighten things up... maybe I am missing something?

    Thanks!
    Mike

Isn't there two seperate sets of shims? One set for pinion depth (position) and one for pinion bearing preload?
