ok, theres a truck near here we might be able to pic up really cheap. it Might have a D60 front, im not sure, what are the OBvious visual differences between a d60 and a d44? Its in the middle of some guys back yard, with weeds all around it. Im leaning to believe its an 8 lug D44, just cause of the age of the truck(1972), but with this guy you never can tell for sure. he could have put anything under there.

That said, If it IS a D60, how hard is it to change from drums to discs?

A Dana 60 will have 3 u-bolts and 2 studs with nuts holding the axle to the springs.

A D60 will use four bolts to hold the steering arm onto the spindle. A d44 uses three bolts to do this. A chevy D60 also uses king pins VS ball joints. I've never seen a chevy D60 with drums as they were introduced in '77 and had nice 13" disk brakes.
