    D60 from \'88 1Ton?

    Everyone,

Will a front Dana 60 from a 1988 1 ton dually fit my '72 K5 without modifying the spring mounting points? I havent seen it but what should I expect to pay? From low end to high end prices? So I know what to expect to pay for it when I check it out.

    Thanks,
    David

echnically yess, but a dually axle has wierd huge hubs which will stick normal wheels out way too far, you would have to convert to single wheel hubs, which would cost as much as the axle itself, best to find a single wheel version.

    Ben,

I mean the front axle. The rear axle on the truck being parted out is a d70. I just want to know if the d60 on the front of that truck will work. I'll find a 14 bolt rear somewhere else.

    Thanks,
    David

Dude, if you don't want the duallies. I'm looking for duallies for my 72. I want to stuff hummer wheels with 42's under there. I have a couple 3.73 14 bolts also.

    Jeffro,

So you want a rear dually d70? Is the d60 on the front of that dually any different than a d60 from any other truck? I dont see why the front axle would be different.

    Later,
    David

I'm needing the dually front hub d60. I'm not even sure that the d70 rear is wide enough. If it's a utility rear axle I heard that the inner wheel will rub. Anyways, the hummer wheels have 7" backspacing, which should fit a dually front hub nicely. They'll stick out but not too much. Hummer wheels are dirt cheap also.

Come to think of it, Is the chunk on the passenger side?
BTW, the dually front axle is wider from flange to flange than a single wheel front axle.

    Jeffro,

I havent seen the truck or the axles. I was told of an '88 1 ton dually being parted out. With a d60 front and a d70 rear. Thats all I know.

Yeah the dually front hub assembly is different than a single wheel front, its wider, you need lots of backspacing to keep the wheel in the wheelwell, or it has to be converte to single wheel hubs and spindles
