Do you mean a WMS to WMS measurement?....or do you really want a measurement from stripped-down knuckle to knuckle.???

Yep, stripped down, back of C knuckle to the back of the other. Not WMS. In other words, the width from the end of one tube to the other.

I can measure mine for you, but it might be a few days. Mine is torn down right now. Look in my webshots (link in my signature) and tell me if its torn down enough to take the measurement. I'm not quite sure what you are asking for, but I'll gladly do it if you can clue me in a little more. By the way, its a single wheel out of a 1980 reg cab long box truck.

Ok ill try and explain in more detail.
Where the C knuckle is welded to the axle tube, on the tube side....I need to know the width from that point from the passenger side to where the C knuckle is welded to the axle tube on the drivers side, or vise versa. Make better sense?

I still have the knuckles on mine. CLICK HERE for the pic of mine. So you want from the inside of the knuckle from one side to the other? I might be able to get the measurement tomorrow for you if that is what you are looking for.

45-3/4" : from the inside of one C-knuckle to the inside of the other.

Realize though that the axle tube itself extends about 3" or so into each inner C-knuckle. But the measurement i gave you is the distance BETWEEN the two innner knuckles...

Are you sure that's not 54-3/4"???

Mine measured 50.0" just to the ends of the tubes (the red arrows)....I can't see how you could get a smaller number by going further across??? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Greg, he is measuring from the INSIDE of the C knuckles where they are welded to the tubes. At 45 3/4" that means from your outside measurement of 50 1/2" there is approximately 2 1/2" of tube in the C knuckles.
