$800 bucks. The guy had cleaned and painted with new brake pads when I went to pick it up. I could not believe the great shape it was in. It was a score on ebay.

$800 for mine in this condition...
4.56 out of a running '84 CUCV with 74k miles.

I replaced all the seals and the u-joints. Cleaned, and painted it. To get it back to pretty much stock condition, I'm probably at about $900. This is what it looks like now...

If you factor in the cost of the 35 spline outters and Warn flanges, it's obviously a bit higher. I also modified the shafts for full circle clips. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

The one I got was a fair bit cleaner than Jethro's...still olive drab color and aside from some dust it didn't take much at all to clean it up. The guy told me the truck it came out of had 35,000 miles on it.

Anyways, I paid $1250 for it and cleaned and painted it. So I guess I'm into it for $1259 now.../forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

$1400 for a whole K30 which ended up donating its engine to my truck.

You guys have seen the pics. It's dirty and rusty looking but it works fine. I wire wheeled it and it's looking a lot better. Of course when it gets warm out, some oven cleaner can help that.

I'm going to turn the rotors (free) and put new calipers and pads on it (30 each for calipers and 40 or so for pads so $100).

I paid $500 for my first, complete except for the calipers with 4.10's, and $400 for the other one sitting in the garage with 4.56's. Both were dually versions, but well worth the hassle for the price.

    I forgot to add:

$340 for crossover and 2wd steering box

    Plan to spend:
$450 or so for hydro assist
    $305 for Lockright
    $100 for new forged joints
    $100 in brakes
Maybe do the 35 spline upgrade with hubs which costs another $450

$955 without the 35 spline upgrade
    $1405 with it

That's IN ADDITION to what I payed for the axle, which puts me well over the $2k mark too.

The initial investment of 800-1200 for a D60 seems like a steal until you add up all the little odds and ends.

Notice I didn't even upgrade the 1310 yoke yet, or mess with the gears, which could easily push you towards the $4k mark when you're done, but then you've got EVERYTHING.

What do you need a '60 for if you haven't even broken your 10 bolt?

I payed $750 (and gave the guy my old stiff as hell Rancho front 4" springs). It has 4.56 gears and was in a bit better shape than KidJethro's. The best thing is that the rotors don't have any rust on them (came out of a driving truck) and all the seals are good. I am going to put some new pads on it and some new u-joints and call it good for now. By summer I plan to have crossover on it and might weld up the front /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif
