I know this has been covered before, and as a matter of fact, I’m probably beating a dead horse here, but it just irks me when I go into a parts store to buy a transfer case rebuild kit for my brother’s truck and they ask me in their line of questioning (ie., what size motor, power steering or manual, etc) if the truck is a four wheel drive or two!!!!:doah:

people at parts stores are computer readers, nothing more... the autozone by where i used to live had a computer facing out towards the store so you could watch while someone looked something up for you, i would just walk in and use it, find the partnumber and tell them i wanted it....

the napa right by my house (3 minute walk) has some very knowledgeable staff working at it... but otherwise, pay minimum wage, get minimum effort

YEP!!!... I only buy stuff at Napa anymore. I used to go to Zone and a local place called Knechts, but when 55Willys stopped working there I couldn't find anyone with a brain to help me with parts.

So now I either buy it online, or go to Napa.

NAPA still has books , I just ask for them and look up your own parts.Where I work I have 6 or 7 of there books mostly filters so I call up with the part #s. I think you can buy them or wait to the end of the year when they get there new ones and get then for free.
