I have a rock rod ready to slap on the Jimmy, but I can't get the old rod off. The rusted old cotter pins will not come out. Dose anyone have any tricks or tips for such a thing?

It's ok to love your truck.

If they are rusted it will be easy to shear them off. If you have an impact just run them off like any other nut and it should come off. If you dont have air power then just take a big wrench and turn the nut off or a socket with a big breaker bar. LIke I said, if its that rusted then it should be weak enough to shear off.

What I did the last time that I had this happen was straighten out the pin on the end and then I broke it off as close to the bolt as possible. I then took a pin punch and pounded it out. Worked like a charm.
