While checking out my bro-in-law's 76 K5 he just bought... we noticed that his wheel bearings were loose. So per procedure, we took them apart to get em tightened back up until he can get new bearings/seals/races, etc....

In doing so we found that the outer clip that holds the inner locking hub in was different between each side. The drivers side was the standard round ring, while the passenger side was more a flat ring about 1/4" in width.

Could this mean that some previous owner swapped in a 10 bolt hub on the passenger side? If this is the case then we will just get him a D44 hub from the boneyard ASAP.

Appreciate any info on the matter.
