how strong are the dana 44 8 lug front axles?i heard that with a locker such as a lock right, any front axle would be stronger because of the 2 shafts are spinning together, instead of one spinning rapidly(one tire fire)does what i said make sense?i've drank myself stupid this afternoon.
    second,how much would you pay for a dana 60 front(chevy)with 5.13 gears,and a power-loc??

they're no stronger than a 6-lug 44, but just a little bit stronger than any 10 bolt.

if you're going for mud, have over 36" tires or drink yourself stuipd on the trail, you need a D60. Expect to pay $1200-1800 configured as you asked. A buddy will sell you one for 700-900. You might look for a used k30, snag the axle and resell to recoup the cost of buying a whole vehicle...
