What splines are the front axles in most Dana44's that were factory in K5. I have found a used locker and would like to make sure it will fit. Give me all the details for this axle. Thanks. Mine is in a '78 K5.

30 spline is what the specs page says, I never actually counted them. They are pretty typical and easy to find.

All 44s from the late 60s and up were 1 5/16"x30 spline. Any 44 locking diff meant for a rear application and 30 spline will fit the front GM 44, EXCEPT a Tru-Trac which has a special application for front ends.
