I am looking for some spare shafts and was wondering if anybody knows if the Ford inner or outer shafts innerchange with GM. Reason I am asking is because I might have found a few Ford D60's for cheap and before I even travel the 2 hours to check them out I want to make sure it is worth the trip.

when you talk fords you need to specify which ones, king pin/balljoint/unit bearing?
I dont know but I believe the answer is no..
but have heard that the short side inner, i think king pin style not sure though, swaps with my dodge and the stubs are all no go as ford shortened the spindles.
there was/is a pirate thread on this somewhere and I think Tim at gohumvee.com has done all the research on it try emailing him.

    sorry no hard facts

I know that a GM inner long side will fit into a 78-79 Ford 60 if you are useing a detroit. The GM one is a little longer and would hit the cross shaft of the open differential. The detroit's center go thru and can accept the GM shaft
