Dana 60 Question (Bill Of Materials)???

    Is there any way to find out more info on my front Dana 60 if the Bill Of Materials was lost to rust? Thanks

    i've had really good luck, with soaking the axle tag in a product called rusticide. Its a phospheric(sp) acid. after about an hour the rust is all gone, and you can make out the info on the tag. your time may vary of course. I have done this almost a dozen axle tags, and its worked every time. I some times have to wipe some paint into the numbers to make it out. Also the Bill of materials should be on the axle tub. If you cant read it on the tube, acid would work there to.

    That should work, I've heard of cases where they were able to recover the case number on a HD that had the engine number filed or ground off by using acid on it.
