I remember reading about this in a Peterson's magazine a few years ago. I can't remember what exactly it was though. Maybe a van rearend or something? Anyone heard of these things?
I just hadn't seen anyone mention one of these on the forums yet, so I thought I'd bring it up.

Yeah I recall reading bout this too. I think it is somewhat rare and actually undesirable as there are not very many (if any) aftermarket parts for it such as lockers and gears.

As i recall, it is basically a dana 60, but it has been modified to accept higher gear sets, up in the 2-3 range, it was an attempt by the auto makers, mostly Ford, to get the trucks to get better milage in the 70's, i think the bearings and many internal parts are the same but the pinion location, and carriers, were changed to accept the higher gears with the larger pinion.
