    Merry Christmas!

I'm trying to figure out the year of my front axle. I believe it is an 81, but I’m not sure. I thought someone here had posted some info on the part number breakdown.

This is what was found on the tube:
    9 17 1 8A 610159 8

This is on the differential webbing
    C40386

    Thanks,
    Konajoe

If it's an '81 then it won't have a Dana axle under it (unless someone swapped it in). It shipped from the factory with a GM Corporate 10 bolt axle up front.

My Dana 44 has the numbers 44 cast into the housing.

Yeah the truck had a 10bolt in it from the factory. These numbers are on the Dana 60 that i swapped in place of the 10bolt.

    Thanks,
