Was wondering if the Dana44 was available in a 6lug version. If not, what is the strongest 6lug front?

The D44 is very widely available in both the 6 and 8 lugs.

If you already have the 10 bolt, you can use parts from that to convert a d44 to 6 lug.

But what is the strongest 6 lug? I also want to make my Blazer somewhat unbreakable but HATE to dump the 38.5's and rims. I also made the mistake of redoing my brakes all the way around before I realized just how easy it will be for me to break them this easter a Moab. Oh well, if I don't bring some spare parts, I guess I'll just have to sit there and drink beer[IMG]....................................[IMG].......................[IMG]
Guess I should have bought axles instead of that dam $1,500 sound system.

Hmm, strongest 6 lug front, let's see, how about a D60 converted to 6 lug? [IMG] Sorry, couldn't resist.

I think the strongest factory 6 lug for Chevy was the D44....

How do I tell a front Dana44 apart from a 10-bolt front? Looking at the pics they sure look very much the same.
