Anyone have the outside diameter measurement of a Dana60's axel tube? Do they differ from front axel to rear axel? Or are all D60 axel tubes the same outer diameter axel tube?
    Thanks

I pretty sure a front D60 has 3 1/2" tubes. I'll check after work and repost if no one has answered definite.

No because the 14FF has 3 3/8" tubes and the D60 are slightly smaller than the 14FF. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Front axel or Rear? Or are they the same anyway?
    Thanks!

    On GM axles:

    D60 front, 3 1/4" tubes.
    14FF rear, 3 3/8" tubes.

Cool...so any idea if a rear D60 has the same size? I would imagine they would be the same for production reasons?
    Thanks

Rear D60's on Ford, Dodge and Chevy vehicles are all in different configurations.

I have seen D60 tubes anywhere from 2 1/2" diameter tubes to 3 1/2" diameters. All were different on every vehicle.

A good general idea to use for the D60 tube size would be to recognize the older vehicles to use the smaller diameter tubes. For example: 1965 half ton Ford trucks were available with the 5 lug pattern D60 rears. These tubes were very small, something like 2 3/4" diameter tubes.

So, there is no real set size of D60 tube. Everything is different, just like all the different variations of ratios and locker choices. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
