A beefed up (full case carrier, cr-mo shafts, good hubs, quality ball joints, etc) 44 is at it's limit with about 37" tires. I know because I broke mine repeatedly with 38s.

I play in everything, but do not do any really extreme rock crawling (although that will change with the D60 in there /forums/images/icons/grin.gif ). I broke numerous axleshafts (including 1 Warn inner and 1 Warn stub), a bunch of u-joints, and 2 ring gears.

If you're talking about the front it came w/ a D44. If you're talking about the rear the 12B it came w/ has a bigger ring gear. If you want to upgrade D60/FF14B combo is the wat to go. What sive tires do you want run? Are you going to change ratios? Adding a locker?
