darn fuel pump

    89 k5 the darn fuel pump doesn't work i have power back to the pump and it's a new pump what gives

    Do you think i can run straight 12 volts with my own relay??????????????????????????????? /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

    Don't know about your particular setup but many vehicles have inertia shutoff relays inline that might have tripped.

    Or it could just be a loose wire.

    defective pump? wires crossed, look into it, i know its a bitch to drop the tank, from what i've heard, ive never done it. check a fuse maybe? good luck. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

    My pump went out about a month ago in my 96 K3500. Had a full 32 gallon tank in it. I managed to drop the tank, replace pump, and put tank back up without ever draining fuel in under 2 hours and still made it to class on time /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif It's really not that difficult of a thing to do...
