I have 87 K5. All the lights work fine except the instrument panel lights. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check? The fuse is not blown and the switch seems to work fine. I can rotate the switch and the dome light comes on, but still no instrument panel lights. Thanks

The potentiometer inside the light pull switch could be really dirty or bad, loose connector on the switch or every bulb in the instrument cluster could be blown. My '82 did the same thing, except I could jiggle the switch and they would work until the next bump. I replaced the switch and they work perfect now.

    Hi
When I bought my 88 all but one light was out. before you start replacing them get the partnumber for the brighter bulbs. Also you will either stick your hand upp behind the instrument cluster and twist out the bulbs, or take apart the dash and disconnect the speedowire and do it comfortable on your lap.
But dont do alot of work before you get the brighter bulb number. I hope someone else will remember what I'm talking about.

The problem withmy 88 is that the printed circut board had heat/stress cracks and the continuity between lights was broken. I had to take the whole thing out and solder them together...I replaced the old bulbs while I was at it. After that hassle now I have new autometer guages that will go in their place.
