dash schematics. color of the fuel gauge wire

    78 chevy, anyone know the color of the fuel level wire from the sender at the gauge cluster... could it be solid brown by any means?

    I used this guys wire ID when I swapped in my AutoMeters and it was spot-on...may be different on a 78 though...

    yeah its different, hes listing colors i dont have.

    i htink i found it, but if im wrong im having illusions of blowing myself to smitherines... you know, shorting it out through the sender and igniting some fuel vapors

    Pink. There might be two wires up by the cluster depending on year and model. It was due to the possibility of having an auxilary tank.

    If you're not on dialup or if by some weird chance it's not pink you can figure out where it connects to by the picture I've got of my cluster on my webpage for my tach install. This way you can figure out which color wire it is.
