    Hi guys and gals...

What a weekend... concerts... mudruns... comp breaking... rigging up a 486 out of spare parts just to get my CK5 fix... now working on the new one... actually got one day to start my 6" lift too! Finally pics of my truck as well! Was out at Dreser today watching... but tomarrow I got to get some parts... mainly a couple shackle bolts so I can finish Weds. No real major problems on day one... put in 8 hrs, although 3 hrs were spent fighting w/ the one shakle bolt, going to get a sawzall and then cutting it... then the other one came out in 5 minutes [IMG] Wasted some time on the rear too by unbolting the u-bolts instead of just cutting them off w/ the diegrinder... but just need to get the bolts... put in the front springs and axles... torque it down and the axleswap and lift should be set except of the rear driveshaft [IMG] You guys can check it out on my page if you're interested.

Well I did message steve about a write up cause I have a ton of pics and would like to adress some stuff that really is never talked about... things that could make it easier for someone else... although other then that one shackle bolt... I hauled some major tail considering it was all by myself and had to drag the axle out and fight getting that in.

Lookin' good Capt! Yeah, there are many things that are left out on most articles...but oh well. The oxy-acety torch was my best friend on my 75' K5 build up and now this 89' build up. The Oxy-Acety was the "Persuader!" :)

Looks real nice man. Just don't kill yourself with the jackstand/cinder block combo. Looks kinda shaky to me. Harbor Freight tools has 12 ton jack stands that are big enough to reach your frame rails. Thats what I used when I lifted mine.

Thanks guys and gals... I like it so far... we'll keep my fingers crossed on the aftermath problems w/ exhaust clearence, drivetrain angles, etc. Lots of projects going among the CK5er's now that spring is here... Boss's truck looks awsome and I can hardly wait to see tRusty 2.0 LOL...(although I prefer the big block I's... II).

Well 73... it was a last second deal cause my buddy has my huge jackstand holding his Fairline frame and body on it. The blocks aren't my preference but it is all I had [IMG]. They are filled w/ concrete and rerod though so they are quite a bit stronger then regular blocks. Safety is always the #1 word though... Thanks for the advice 73!

Oh yeah ... Boss I haven't even busted out an oxy/acetl torch yet... just used a little mapp gas flame on the brake lines to cut them loose. I sawzalled the stuck shakle bolt... other then that is has been pretty much a breeze (Knock on wood).

Rene... This was usppost to be low buck too... but so far w/ wheels, tires, axles, lift, driveshaft, brace... all the maint items and susp stuff...uhhh look'n at about 3,500 in mods/new tranny... paid 2800 for the truck... so not too bad I guess. Motor is next [IMG]... or paint... hmmmm???? [IMG]
